David Richt is 21 years old and a junior at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Three years ago he released his first full recording project as a solo artist. The first single “Everybody Matters,” released in the fall of 2012, was the beginning. His record, by the same name, was released in winter 2013. He then released his second single “Heaven” written by himself, Andrew Fromm, and his producer Tyler Hayes. He has just released (2014) a remix of “Drawing Lines” written by himself, Tyler Hayes, and Mark Lee. He has been in the studio over the last few months completing a new song ”One Loud Voice” to add to the newer re-mixes of “Drawing Lines” and “Words.” That 3 song disc was released in late January (2016).
When you think of the name Richt, ‘singer-songwriter’ might not be the first thing that comes to mind. He has grown up in a family intertwined with football (his dad is University of Miami Coach Mark Richt) and a strong faith in Jesus Christ. David, along with other family members, has attended Christian school and done mission work over Spring break holidays since junior high. He also served as a youth counselor/worship leader/programs director at Kanakuk Kamps for the past two summers. David is now getting ready to find what God has for him in music and is ready to step out in faith and trust that God will provide.
