The Dogwood Festival isn’t just for the parents! Bring your kiddos out to to the Nissan Kidz Zone for loads of fun. We have all kinds of great activities:
- Play and dig in a giant sand pile
- Ride the train – sized especially for the kids
- Jump on the trampoline
- See just how high you can climb on our rock wall
- Sit back and enjoy the wonderful entertainment
- Find out what critters we have in this year’s petting zoo
- Come out for our annual Dog show – you can enter your own pooch or stop by to cheer for your favorite! It’ll be held at 9 a.m., Saturday.

Kidz Zone Hours
Friday, 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
The Kidz Zone is located in front of the Board of Education building.
Please bring your can tabs! We will be collecting tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities in the Kidz Zone this year.
By saving this tiny pull tab, you can help raise thousands of dollars to support the families of seriously ill or injured children receiving medical treatment at Nashville area hospitals. … Through this recycling program Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville is raising more than $13,000 a year to help with their operating expenses.
Kidz Zone Details
The generosity of Nissan North America sponsoring the Kidz Zone at the Dogwood Festival, May 6-8, 2016, has made it possible for all activities to once again be free. Nissan North America has been an partner of the festival and sponsored the Kidz Zone since it began in 2005. The new edition of NoJoe’s Clown Circus, “A Tribute to Hollywood” is a fantastically themed production. Filled with all the wonder and amazement that his fans have come to expect from the American Circus. A tribute to Hollywood features clowns of the year, NOJOE and TooT performing some of their very best clowning routines ever. Including new for this production and for the first time an all new “Taming of the Beast”.
The beautiful and elegant Miss Jamie will be flying high overhead, over 30 feet high in fact on the Swinging Ladder Trapeze (the oldest style trapeze in the world and the only one to tour the U.S. in recent years). Performing on a razor thin steel cable suspended high over the center ring is 5th generation circus performer and new world record holder Hernan Colonia.
Tennessee Valley Zoo will provide an interactive, entertaining and memorable experience with a variety of animals that will entertain the entire family. You may see an emu, crocodile, camel, Bennett Wallaby, zebra, Ring-tailed Lemur, Artic Fox, Alpaca, or porcupine for the first time.
Feeling adventurous, you can try out the water walkers; ride the spider; jump on the bungee trampoline.
