Foghat

In the late 1960's Roger Earl & Lonesome Dave Peverett first toured America as members of the seminal British band "Savoy Brown". Together with guitarist Kim Simmonds, "Savoy Brown" was on the cutting edge of the emerging British blues-rock scene, and they influenced countless musicians on both sides of the "pond". In 1971, wanting to give a more Rock 'n Roll flavor to the blues-boogie music they were playing with "Savoy", Dave & Roger enlisted lead/slide guitarist Rod Price & bassist Tony Stevens, formed a new band, "Foghat", and the rest is part of Rock and Roll history.Signed by Albert Grossman to Bearsville Records in 1971, the band recorded their first self-titled LP "Foghat" and began touring relentlessly for the next 14 years. Their hard work has thus far been rewarded with seven Gold records, one Platinum record "Fool For The City" (1975), and one Double-Platinum record "Foghat Live" (1977). The "Fool For The City" album contained Foghat's trademark Top 40 hit song "Slow Ride" and cemented their place as one of the world's top rock acts. They continued to hit the charts in the 1970's with singles such as "Fool For The City", "Drivin' Wheel", "I Just Wanna Make Love To You", "I'll Be Standing By", "Stone Blue", "Third Time Lucky" and "Somebody's Been Sleeping In My Bed"… many of which are still classic rock radio staples.

Foghat toured and recorded non-stop into the mid-eighties. Tony Stevens had left the band in 1974 to pursue other interests, and was replaced by bassist Craig MacGregor (with a short stint with Nick Jameson in between). Rod Price departed the band in 1980. In 1985 Lonesome Dave returned to England for a well-deserved break from touring, while Roger remained in the US and continued to tour with various new musicians and Foghat alumni. In 1989 Lonesome Dave resumed touring in the states with future member Bryan Bassett. But it is 1994 that marks the return of Foghat to the world stage, when the original members reunite for the recording of "Return of the Boogie Men". Being back on the road, non-stop, once again yielded a new live CD for the band titled "Road Cases", released in 1997.

The Last Straw

Five men, from different musical backgrounds, combine the influences of their past and their vision of the future to create a sound so unique, yet so recognizable, that it can be mistaken as nothing but The Last Straw. Screaming riffs, impeccable percussion, roaring slide guitar, groovy bass, and the sensation of the perfect organ notes fill the sound that becomes so easily familiar. Songs like “Rock N’ Roll Queen,” and “She Don’t Love You” are reminiscent of some of The Last Straw’s greatest influences; such as The Black Crowes, The Allman Brothers, and The Beatles. 23 year old Kyle Daniel’s lyrics scream blues, soul, and rock with the power of a voice far beyond his years. Quincey Meeks’ notes stream from his amplifier in perfect accompaniment, while Marc Williams keeps the bass line fresh for every song. Pearce Harrison marks the beat with his well timed thunder, and Adam Botner provides the perfect amount of funk and soul as he pounds the ivory. The combination of all five men’s eclectic southern roots and influences produces a stripped down, in your face sound that’s familiar, yet fresh. Their huge guitar solos and keys sweep over the top of the hip-swinging bass lines and precisely timed drums and combine with many of the same elements that made bands like The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Led Zeppelin, and The Who legendary.

EG Kight

EG Kight was encompassed by music from the day she entered this world, in rural Georgia. Her mother was a gospel singer and her grandmother a guitar player. Her grandfather, a southern preacher, founded the church where she attended, and by age three, EG was singing solo in that church. At 15 she was performing at civic events and festivals, and at 16 she penned her first song. Kight was soon performing on stage with country music legends like George Jones and Jerry Lee Lewis. Discovered while singing in a Macon club by actor Patrick O'Neal, EG was offered a small part in a movie with Burgess Meredith, and was Mr. Meredith’s vocal coach.
During her country career, she worked shows with major country artists, went on radio tours, and appeared several times on The Nashville Network’s “Nashville Now” show, reaching over 64 million homes with each airing. During that time, EG's exposure to the blues consisted mainly of B.B. King, Bobby Blue Bland, Sonny James, and Elvis. But in 1995, she heard a tape of Koko Taylor, an astonishing voice that would leave a lasting impression. As a result, EG’s musical career took a dramatic turn toward the blues. Kight’s music now crosses many borders that tastefully incorporate blues, jazz, country, southern rock, gospel and funk. Early in her blues career, she was the only independent artist to have songs selected by a panel of retailers for inclusion on two GET THE BLUES! albums, both of which maintained Billboard chart positions for more than a year. Kight joins legendary artists such as Delbert McClinton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Keb’ Mo’, Robert Cray, Muddy Waters, Koko Taylor and others on these albums.

Daniel Smith

Daniel Smith first turned heads in a big way with the 2005 release of American Made, his debut album for Parlor Records.  The project yielded three chart singles. Now Smith is busy at work on his second album, Revolution, which will be out in May 2009.  It has already spawned the party anthem and dance club favorite, “Livin’ The Good Life.”  The next single up is “Man Like Me.”
Within Daniel Smith's rugged six-foot-five frame lie the heart of a poet and the warm, sincere and comforting voice of a best friend. Like those of Kris Kristofferson, Smith's lyrics are literate and well-defined meditations on life's uneven surfaces.  He wrote or co-wrote every song on American Made and saw the public embrace the singles “I’m Going Home,” “Thank You,” and “What U See Is What U Get.”

Crosspoint String Band

I’m Glenn Kosiorek, and I founded, lead, and schedule the band. I play the banjo, mandolin and mandola. I masterfully (ha!) “MC” when we play, and have been described as a happy kind of guy. My wife Shelley plays the mandolin; and yes, she is the original “mandolin lady” in the band! Rick Vella plays the guitar, banjo, mandolin, and dobro, and is a soulful, heart touching songwriter with BMI. He is full of energy, drive and nuttiness. Sarah, our oldest daughter, is married to Rick, and she plays the upright bass and the fiddle and is the band technician. Sarah is so sweet and she has received several compliments on her sweet voice. Amanda, our youngest daughter, plays the mandolin, bass, guitar, fiddle and dobro. She’s also full of energy, has a great ear just like Rick and Sarah, and is a combination of sweet and feisty. She was singing before she could walk. In November 2008 Amanda got a new last name when she married Brandon Ladanye. We all sing lead or harmony depending on the need of the song. It is the joy of our life to pick, sing, travel and serve the Lord together as a family.

While playing with that band future members of The Tennessee Valley Express met when Trey and Evan both had worked with the Tremble Creek Bluegrass Boys. Trey and Evan were founding members of the Bitter Root Bluegrass Boys. This band had the opportunity to play at the Independent Music Festival in Nashville, TN where they received the Best Applause Award and also played at the dedication of Bill Monroe's home place. After a few year abscence Jeremy Crosslin has took over the banjo slot. He has played with Chris, Trey, and Evan in a group before and they are stoked to have him back. The band is still searching for a Upright Bass player but Billy has been temporarily filling that slot. The group rehearses diligently each week concentrating a great deal on instrumentation and having great vocals. The band is a close knit group, just like brothers on and off the stage. With some members having known and played music with each other for years, combined with the new members, they unite for two things. That is to have fun doing what they love and to carry on the tradition of bluegrass music.

Tyler Shayne Band

In a world where real Country Music has seem to have lost it’s roots, comes a young man that seems to have transcended time and is not afraid to keep the real traditions of Country Music alive.  Tyler Shayne may be young in age but his music and style is reminiscent of his heroes, the early Country Music pioneers, Hank Williams, Jimmie Rogers, Johnnie and Jack, and Ernest Tubb.  His self penned tunes you would swear were songs written back in the Fifties and Sixties. Born and raised on the farm in Pleasant View, TN, he got his first taste of Country with two CD’s from his granddad, Hank Williams and the Outlaws Waylon and Willie, thus beginning his love and trail in Country Music. At the age of 11, his grandmother from his other side of the family, bought him a cheap guitar in a pawn shop in Madison, TN along with a couple Hank Willliams and Johnny Cash song books. He began learning the basics and foundation of the guitar from a church member, George Ruiz.  He continued to practice to Hank Williams, trying to sound and play just like him. Tyler wrote his first song at the age of 13 “the Dog Gone Blues” and played on a stage first time publically at a Republican benefit at his grandparents house.  Tyler furthered his guitar style from Gary Adams, a fellow who could play anything with strings. He picked up his bluegrass side and licks from Gary but always considered himself country. Continuing to write, play and sing were ever he could, with whomever, whenever he could all through high school focusing on music over his studies.
